The Venice Glass Week 2019: 3D Graal. Dreams drowned in the glass by Sini Majuri

For The Venice Glass Week 2019, the hall of the Hotel Saturnia & International hosts the new project by Sini Majuri “3D Graal. Dreams drowned in the glass ".

The artist combines the Swedish technique of Graal glass, in use for over 100 years, with modern 3D printing. Drawing inspiration from the versatility and optical properties of this ancient and noble material, Sini Majuri develops a surreal narrative caged inside a thick glass, which contains some hidden details that are only visible from specific angles. "In my artistic work I try to capture dreamlike visions inside the glass, by combining different settings inspired by the real world. The representations inside the glass will never change color or fade, but will last forever , and this is why I want to capture something precious. " said the Swedish artist.

The exhibition will remain open to the public from September 7th to 29th  in thehall of the Hotel.

Located just minutes from Piazza San Marco, the Hotel Saturnia & International, one of the few hotels with spa in Venice, now run by the fourth and fifth generation of the Serandrei family, hides a world rich in history, with an authentic Venetian note, made of inlaid wood ceilings and precious marbles, but above all of hospitality to be discovered. These peculiarities make the Saturnia a unique hotel in the Venetian panorama for its management characteristics, cultural proposal and more generally for the atmosphere that you can breathe there. 

This event, together with the exhibitions "Purho presents the Royal Family - design Karim Rashid" at the La Caravella Restaurant and "Purho: Tribute to Alessandro Mendini" at the Ca' Pisani Design Boutique Hotel, once again confirms the particular attention that the Serandrei family dedicates to the world of glass art and to the artistic and cultural life of the city.
