La CaravellaRestaurant
Over 60 Years ofHistory
The Restaurant La Caravella adds a touch of culinary excellence to the Hotel Saturnia & International's offerings. Managed with passion by the Serandrei family since 1963, it stands as a celebrated culinary institution in Venice, renowned for its sophisticated reinterpretation of traditional cuisine, enhanced with gourmet flair and contemporary influences. Before 1963, the same premises housed the renowned Ciro's Bar, a favorite haunt of Simone de Beauvoir, Ernest Hemingway, and other notable figures, all under the management of the Serandrei family.
The Menu
La Caravella’s cuisine draws inspiration from Venetian culinary traditions and the broader gastronomic heritage of Veneto, masterfully reinterpreted by the creative vision of Chefs Elena and Marzio. To complement these exquisite dishes, our restaurant offers a distinguished selection of wines, predominantly from the Triveneto region, meticulously curated by our expert sommeliers.
The Dining Rooms
The restaurant's interior features elegant dark wood paneling and furnishings inspired by maritime themes, evoking the grandeur of Christopher Columbus's caravels.
In the summer, the restaurant extends to its enchanting outdoor courtyard, a lush Venetian garden draped in greenery and adorned with boat sails that provide delightful shade from the sun.
For dinners, special occasions, or private events, our Il Cortile room is available, offering a charming setting with a capacity of up to 85-90 guests.
