Biennale Architettura 2021: How will we live together?
Biennale Archiettura 2021: from May 22nd to November 21st
Venice restarts from art. The 17th International Architecture Exhibition is the first major artistic event in 2021.
"How will we live together?", the title of the Biennale Architettura 2021 curated by Hashim Sarkis, includes 112 participants coming from 46 countries with increased representation from Africa, Latin America, and Asia, 62 National participations, 3 of which are participating for the first time (Grenada, Iraq and Uzbekistan), and 16 collateral events approved by the curator and promoted by non-profit national and international bodies and institutions.
The theme of this edition aims to analyze the challenges that architecture must face to solve the new global problems: the role of public space in recent urban uprisings; new reconstruction methods; new challenges that climate change is putting in front of architecture; the changing forms of collective housing across the globe; the Architecture of Education and the Education of the Architect; the relationship between curation and architecture.
3 exhibition venues: Central Pavilion at the Giardini, the Arsenale, and Forte Marghera (Mestre).
To complete the program, the Weekends on Architecture, a series of meetings with architects, scholars and professionals from all over the world who will try to answer the question "How will we live together?"
